When I start a movie, if I stop it and start watching another one, when I go back to the first one it always starts playing where it left off. I can't figure out how to get it to go back to the start of the movie. Must be something easy... I just can't find it

XBMC should give a pop up asking if you want to "resume from X" or start from the beginning.
You can make easy links to the XBMC wiki using double brackets around words: [[debug log]] = debug log, [[Add-on:YouTube]] = Add-on:YouTube, [[Adding videos to the library]] = Adding videos to the library, [[userdata]] = userdata, etc |

Go to Settings > Video > File Lists and ensure that the "Default Select Action" is "Play" and not "Resume".
