Hi guy's,

I now have a xbmclog in the pastebin #2351.

Is this something you can access or do you need me paste the details into my next post?

I read:
Application Specific Information:
XBMC[2278] was suspended with locked system files:
/private/var/mobile/.smb/gencache_notrans.tdb

Could this be the issue?

Thanks again for your help with this.

Cheers

Thanks guy's, I now have a xbmc.log in the paste bin http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=2351
Do you need me to paste this into my next post or can you view this log yourself?

Cheers

NedScott whats wrong here? There is only a crashreporter. I thought the addon would upload the xbmc.log aswell.

tyfighter24 - whatever you did to get me that log - it didn't work out Sad - thats not the xbmc.log which i would need, but a crashreporter log (you didn't mention a crash yet). So either this is not your log file with number 2351, or something else has gone wrong.

How new is the current "network" setup? Has it worked via your AP-express before or is this a new constellation?

I just set up a new mini-mac and installed everything from scratch... But had problem with installing a add-on (zip-style). It turned out that the permissions to access the files somehow had messed up on my external 3Tb drive - so I had to sort that out first.

After the read/write permissions were updated on the drive, I had no problems from within XBMC. = It was a system error, not XBMC.

Might not be the case - but might be something to check out as well if you have a new constellation.

Keyword "Drive permission"

Good luck! Smile

Hi Ned,

Thats the report link it emailed me and I haven't had a crash only operation not permitted error however........

I've been doing a little more research as to what might be causing this issue.

My new modem does not have the DLNA funtionality, my old one did.

Could this be the problem?

Thanks
Thanks Roquen,

Did you have to re format the drive from scratch or was there a quick way around this?

My network is fairly old, about 8 months, the only thing I have changed is my modem and after speaking with a couple of different people it seems as though the lack of the DLNA functionality on my modem may be causing the issue.

I hope so

Thanks

Please do the xbmc log thingy again and post the link you get per e-mail not only the number.

NedScott help here - i don't know nothing about that log addon, but it seems its only getting crashlogs instead of log files.

I had to change the file-permits on the drive and run "inherit" through the whole drive after I did so (setting every user + "Everyone" to Read/Write). Alas, there is still some issues with Win-clients that leave stuff on the HDD/Share - but that is probably because OSX thinks that it is reserved for another user.

Hmm, a fileshare should not be dependent on the DLNA-protocol (if you do not base your flow around DLNA). Simple filesharing should work straight from the router (AirPort Express).

Sorry that I could not be more helpful

Hope the guys logg-reading will help - they´re the expert about XBMC anyway! Wink

Cheers

I will have to check when I get home and can test directly on an ATV2. I tried the Log Uploader on Mac OS X and it worked fine, plus I didn't see any options to upload different logs.

You can make easy links to the XBMC wiki using double brackets around words: [[debug log]] = debug log, [[Add-on:YouTube]] = Add-on:YouTube, [[Adding videos to the library]] = Adding videos to the library, [[userdata]] = userdata, etc
