I have a Radeon HD6850 and the HDMI audio setting only works on 5.1 videos.
If the video is 2.0 (stereo) the video's audio settings must be at Playback Through All Speakers otherwise, there is no audio via HDMI. Any idea why this is? This band-aid (of setting Playback Through All) isn't much of a problem for me. However, for my girlfriend I'd like the set up to be as seamless as possible.
So, any ideas on why HDMI needs to be explicitly set?
