Question  Acer Aspire Revo replacement. Post: #1
My Acer Aspire Revo is about 2 years old and i'm looking to upgrade to something a lot better but I don't know what's out there and what's good. I'm looking for something that can handle win7 so i can do netflix and/or bluray.

is the next gen ion (GT218-ION) the best?
what about cpu? is the Atom still the choice?

Thank you!

I suggest you start with eskro's htpc guide. http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=94199.

First, you need to figure out your needs and build a system according to the group you belong to.

Hope that helps.

thanks. but I don't want to build though, I was hoping to buy a ready to go unit like my current Acer Aspire Revo.

If there isn't a good option I will have to think about building....

Yes, my bad. Just so accustomed to seeing builds here. There are many suggestions for off the shelf systems in the guide.

It all depends on your needs.

What would like out of your htpc?

I've yet to find an identical, low power, small-footprint machine to replace my Revo 1600.

Cool thanks! I'd like it to do 1080p (and powerful enough to handle the 10bit in the future), netflix, and/or bluray.
