Windows TV Keeps auto setting picture size during movie playback

Hi All,

I have a strange problem when playing back movies. For some reason it keeps resetting the picture settings on the TV causing it to go through an auto set-up (where is chooses the Wide screen setting), like sometimes when watching TV and it switches for the adverts. I hope that this makes sense!

My Setup is as follows:

Computer: Acer Revo, running Windows 7
Software: XBMC (all versions, running GPU acceleration)
TV: Panasonic Plasma
Connection: HDMI
Drivers: Have tried various, same problem exists

If anybody has any ideas that would be greatly appreciated.

PS, it's not always been like this, it used to work fine, I have also checked the basics (loose cables etc). It only does this during full screen movie playback.

In setting\Video playback do you have adjust refresh rate set to on?

What is the specific TV model?

Hi Thanks for the replies, apologies for the delay, I've had to work away unacceptedly.

The tv is a panasonic TX-P42G10 and the display refresh rate is unticked for the "adjust display refresh rate to match video" option.

I would think this is an issue with the TV and its settings. Once you set XBMC's resolution it does not change unless you tell it to.
