Hey Guys,
So my old trust Atom/ION giada htpc is starting to show signs of it's age...freezing up and being less and less stable. So it's time for an upgrade.
I want another small form factor PC that will stream 1080p with out issue but I also want something that will play HD audio (TrueHD/DTS-HD). From what I understand that rules out all AMD based GPU platforms as they don't do HD audio.
I'm looking at Intel/NVIDIA based options and I wanted to pose the question:
What is the cheapest option for getting HD audio playback in a small form factor?
The Intel NUC's support HD audio playback those look like a good solution....but I'm left wondering if any of you enterprising users have found a cheaper platform.
Also, I netboot all of my HTPCs so I won't be needing any local storage.
