Just give Mediaportal PVR addon a try with xbmc both on Windows and Linux and i must say that it seems pretty stable.
One thing i would like to do is change the channel number because i'm used to use channel sid to change channel and for now it start from channel and upper.
For example if i want to switch to channel sid number 107 in xbmc i have to use channel number 72.

This is anoying and will not pass WAF factor if i want to use the solution permanently in the house.

First check if the "TV Server configuration" tool shows the wanted channel numbers under "TV Channels", "All channels" tab.
If this is ok, then start XBMC and enable the "Use backend channels numbers" option. See also: wiki: PVR/XBMC.

To re-read the channel list with the backend numbers, reset also your PVR database with the "Reset the PVR database" option.
