Linux Choppy audio for flac / ffmpeg errors in log
#1
After last nightly upgrade most of my flac files (but not all, seems it depends on compression level?) became almost unlistenable: choppy, skipping parts of track, sometime skipping to the next file.
There are a lot of ffmpeg errors while playing (see log starting from 17:20:00).

I googled a little and found this thread on similar ffmpeg issue, when compiled on GCC 4.9.0

And now?

They clearly say: wait for gcc 4.9.1 or use gcc svn version, it's gcc fault.

My suggestion: use a compiler that has at least the second dot release done.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

It means I would need to wait for updated nightly with proper gcc and ffmpeg. I myself don't have hands attached to the right side to compile ffmpeg libs (and the whole ELEC) from sources.

Next time write in fat letters, that you are using OpenELEC. You already opened a bugreport on oe github and sraue who has bumped to gcc 4.9 will fix it.

It's not an ffmpeg fault. gcc tried to be too smart and optimized something broken ...

Fritsch, it was not me Smile
May be it was my question on OE forums, but it left unanswered.

Thanks for the explanation, fritsch!
