Audio keeps going out of sync
#1
Hi,

I have an issue with my xbmc whereby the audio keeps going out of sync with the movie/tv show. Each time if I either reboot the pc or restart the application then it comes back into sync but only for a while then gradually gets worse and worse out of sync. I have tried playing with a few of the audio settings, such as limit audio bitrate etc, but it still keeps happening. If anybody can please help it will be much appreciated.

System is as follows:

XBMC 13.1 Git:f2acae7 (Compiled: Jun 6 2014)

x86_64

Ubuntu 14.04 (not xbmcbuntu)

Installed through PPA

Debug log: http://paste.ubuntu.com/7657413/

Not a Debug Log

You are running proprietary amd drivers without any hardware acceleration. They are known to be the worst drivers on earth available for any linux hardware.

Disable Hardware Acceleration in Video -> Acceleration and use Software decoded instead, this will at least give you multi threaded decoding to help your poor AMD 6000+
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Ah sorry, I followed these instructions:
Code:
sudo apt-get install pastebinit -y
cat $HOME/.xbmc/temp/xbmc.log | pastebinit

Should I also switch the AMD drivers in the ubuntu settings?

(I could also use this as an excuse to convince the wife to let me upgrade the mobo and cpu Smile )

Many thanks Smile

Switch the decoding method first.

And for the logfile, enable debugging in xbmc, restart xbmc, play a video until the issues show, then post the logfile.

Ok, I enabled debug logging and tried playing the same TV show I tried last night when it was happening, but it seems switching the decoding method seems to have worked. Anyway, I have uploaded the debug logs:

debug xbmc.log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=228765
XBMC crashlog: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=228770
