Hi,

I have been having some issues getting my changes in XBMC with regards to the library update automation.

the Scene: I have all my movies arranged in folders on my NAS

the Infra : Thecus N4200 NAS 8TB, Windows 7 Home 64-bit Laptop, Samba mounted in XBMC, MediaCompanion 3.502b, The Renamer

the Problem: My movies (international and regional) donot get media info scraped from TMDB correctly. So I use MediaCompanion to modify and update the nfo for these movies including thumbnails, posters, and fanarts ,etc. I also sometimes update these movies into series or "Sets" which gets updated in the nfo. Mediacompanion is the recommended xbmc nfo generator, so I am assuming these is not incompatablities. I also use TheRenamer to change movies names for those movies that don't get scraped properly, and all this gets fixed via MediaCompanion.

Logically, xbmc should just run update and identify these changed .nfo. ex. the new Sets should be viewable after the update? or the new media info with thumbnails generated via MediaCompanion should be found by xbmc on update library. And there should be some way to manually run update on a file/folder which looks out for nfo changes targetting only a single folder or subfolder.

But these don't work as I expect or I may not be running the proper options. I have installed auto library update plugins but this does not solve my problem. I end up removing my sources, and re-adding sources to fix all the above problems. But that is too much of an overhead for around 1000 movies.

Hoping someone can shed some light on this problem.
