Hi out there ... I dont know if anybody else got this "problem" with WOL.
The last days I have flashed a new Rom to my phone, so i had to reinstall all Apps.
I was on the way to work, so I installed the xbmc-remote app over mobile network.
I have done all the settings I need to get the app running and wanted to use/check
it after work.
But when i was home and on my wlan-network i saw that my "Power ON" button was missing in the app.
The remote worked really fine as allways, but the WOL thing didnt work, cause of the missing button.
First i was like .. then after some testing more like
But after a good amount of i got the idea
WOL works over the mac-adress of the media-center. And in fact there is no way to set up the mac-adress
in the app, it has to get it by itself. But i wasnt in my LAN when i installed and set up
the remote-app. So the mac-adress for sure is missing.
And cause of that the Power-ON button is missing too!
It seems like the app dosnt care about mac-adress and other host settings, after you have set up the host.
So I had to go to seetings, manage the host, and had to "edit" the ip-adress while im on my lan.
The app then got the mac-adress of my media-center and everything was fine!
So in short words .... if u want to use WOL u really HAVE TO be on ur lan while ur media-center is
connected to the lan aswell, for the remote-app setup.
@ Devs .. maybe there should be a startup ip/mac check or something?!
