XMBC running on Linux, temp files overide real content
#1
I'm having a problem with the contents of ~/.xbmc/temp

I can't find any reference to this in the wiki, but I presume these files amount to a cache of recently played content.

But this causes me all sorts of problems.

I use XBMC to play audio files (not music, but audio plays, talking books etc) but a lot of these have the same track names, so often just saying things like

Track 01
Track 02
Track 03 etc

And XBMC often plays files with the same name in the temp area rather than the original, the version is should be playing. The meta data in these files is different, but the file names are the same.

I did set up a cron job to delete the files in the ~/.xbmc/temp but if XBMC is running at the time this can cause unpredictable problems.

Help! What can I do?
