He made it first.... there is your name....

Thanks for the link. The temps he reports make me uncomfortable especially if I have a 3.5" HD in there. Also confirms that I would have to stick with the expensive MB. Hmmm, maybe an A6-Pack clone it will be.

Maybe the name should be "Nevermind"

Yup I know the temps are high.... one day there will be technology that won't need any fans and temps will be low..... that is one day!

You can find the 300-65 on Ebay for $99 free ship.... crazy how much other retailers are charging... this was after my build.

Right now im in the process of getting a 300-150..... with an A8 for a desktop..... Smile

Beer, do you think there is any way to squeeze a 3.5" drive in you build? I'm not afraid of a case mod/Dremel surgery. I'm studying your thread as we speak.

I'm not sure.... if you can then you have to take the bracket off like I did and install the 3.5 on the bottom and the 2.5 on the top....

Why not use an external 3.5? they make the cases for them too....

I'll let you know on the IR receiver - I should get my new one tomorrow. I believe they've been re-programmed actually:

Re: the temps - it's honestly not that bad in use, OE is reporting about 45 typically. Windows reports 50 to 60 during xbmc. I only got it higher by really pushing it. And who cares, as long as it remains stable?

Why not just record your live TV back to your server/NAS - works perfectly for me. Putting a 3.5HD in it will stop it being silent, too...

Thanks for the information about the temps and congratulations on a great build. Those temps don't make me that nervous.

I would love to record TV directly to my server but my OS of choice is Windows 7 and I use WMC for recording which doesn't allow recording to a network location (at least any way that I know of).
