Acer Revo RL70 looks to be a great pre-made system...
#16
Alright really is not for my HTPC but.... I am going to buy it. And I will test it with XBMC also....

I'll write up a review....

Thank you for your help....

If this works wonders for HTPC! as I think it will and you already know.... best system to buy already made!

It's way slick..... Smile

Slick! indeed....I really never take pics of the builds I do but I've seen how helpful they are too others trying or thinking about building with the same components...So with that in mind I'll be taking pics from now on and posting. I'll try and get pics of one of the Zacate builds I did of a client that wanted a setup like your's except he had his LCD TV mounted on the wall with a Swivel Mount so I ended up mounting the PC to the Wall in the space between the tv and the wall...you can't see it, it's still behind the TV and It is Dead Silent....no fans on the case n no fans on the motherboard.
I used and Asrock E-350M1 board, 2gigs of Kingston ram, and the M350 case with pico psu and swapped out the stock heatsink with a Zalman Fanless Northbridge heatsink.

Will be awesome when you start posting your builds.... Smile

Well under the TDP, we kept an eye on it for days since it was behind the TV, I thought it would get much hotter but it didn't and I know for a fact this client runs his pc 24/7, the first thing he said, " I don't wanna be FKN with it....I just wanted to be there in the back, I don't want to be pushing any buttons to turn it on or off " LOL mmmmm where have I heard that before...MY WIFE!!!! So it's always on or asleep and he just wakes it up with wmc remote. I was mainly on AVS forums but decided to just focus on XBMC, and help out and share my builds over here, theres alot of Windows Media Center or Die!!! Kinda guys over there, but I just love the direction XBMC is going in, I love the community, the support...

Just pulled the trigger on one of these after cutting my teeth on the Revo 3610.

It looks great and a little easier to Mod than the original Revo.

The AMD E-450 also got a nice test review vs an ION system here:

My only worry is the Fusion support in XBMC, but I've read a lot of threads saying it has come of age now.

The AMD6450 got my attention, not a huge difference performance wise but every little bit counts. For a while the Lenovo was retailing at less than £170 in the UK.

One of the key things about the Revo is that it comes with Windows 7 pre-installed.

With my experience testing the D2700 on Windows, the HD6450 would be sorely needed with the D2700.

How about a D2700 with built-in GT520 in this case:

I have two Zacate powered HTPC's in my home and they are great, very low cost, low power draw, Surfing the web, watching movies, youtube, feels the same as other quad core amd builds and dual core sandy b builds. Xbmc is great in these lil setups, it just flies in the new Confluence Skin in Eden, the only draw back at the moment is that it can't handle Netflix HD, but let's be honest, Netflix HD...meh! really not even HD. I use Hulu, and Epix HD and all the other XBMC video add ons.

got rid of netflix about 9 months ago dont miss them. Hulu all the way thanks bluecop

For HTPC, the E-450 should be perfect for it.....my E-350+GT430 can playback just everything I threw at it so far....mostly 1:1 blu-ray ISO rips (full 1080P and bitstreaming)....there is no problem navigating through XBMC either!

To me, E-450 is a perfect low power/silent HTPC but I don't know about using it for office PC.....you can check out the full review on another E-450- Sapphire Edge HD3: AMD E-450 Mini PC......
>Alienware X51- do it all HTPC
>Simplify XBMC configurations
>HOW-TO Bitstreaming using XBMC
I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!
