I have Air Playit running on my home server that is currently serving media to my iPad over the internet so I can access my library anywhere. I've been running XBMC since it first appeared on the original Xbox, and with the recent release of the iOS 5.1 jailbreak, I'm now running XBMC on my iPad 2. I would very much like to replace Air Playit with XBMC for my media playback needs on the iPad. Is there anyway to add my Air Playit server as a media source or is there another program capable of transcoding my videos on-the-fly for playback through XBMC?

Well far as i can see (never used it) it has http right? So you can add that as source. I use http all the time in xbmc.
Just looked around a bit and xbmc should be able to play all formats on iOS right? Don't know about those limitations.
