In what folder do we put this so the dpkg -i org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2_11.0-3_iphoneos-arm.deb works?

I would assume, you just follow these instructions:

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=127369

Yes, you can copy your user preferences folder back onto it - just be sure the permissions are set correctly.

I did it, and, at the final i got this message:

Unpacking replacement org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2 ...
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2:
org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2 depends on org.awkwardtv.whitelist; however:
Package org.awkwardtv.whitelist is not installed.
org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2 depends on com.nito.updatebegone; however:
Package com.nito.updatebegone is not installed.
org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2 depends on org.xbmc.xbmc-seatbeltunlock; however:
Package org.xbmc.xbmc-seatbeltunlock is not installed.
dpkg: error processing org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2 (--install):
dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
Errors were encountered while processing:
org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2
Apple-TV:~ root# rm org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2_11.0-3_iphoneos-arm.deb

Did you get this resolved? I saw all six pages of the post and didn't see an answer to this ... do i need to start over?

Thanks!

Code:
INSTALL NITO
apt-get install wget
wget http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16129573/com.nito.deb
dpkg -i com.nito.deb
apt-get update
apt-get install com.nito.nitotv
reboot

in case of timeouts (zottd and modmyi gave me troubles) just comment the lines in this config file:

/etc/apt/sources.list.d/cydia.list

install XBMC

apt-get update
mkdir -p /Applications/AppleTV.app/Appliances
apt-get install org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2
mkdir -p /Applications/XBMC.frappliance
wget http://mirrors.xbmc.org/apt/atv2/deb/org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2_11.0-3_iphoneos-arm.deb
dpkg -i org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2_11.0-3_iphoneos-arm.deb
rm org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2_11.0-3_iphoneos-arm.deb

and just in case:

wget http://apt.awkwardtv.org/pool/main/com.nito.updatebegone_0.2-1_iphoneos-arm.deb
dpkg -i com.nito.updatebegone_0.2-1_iphoneos-arm.deb
rm com.nito.updatebegone_0.2-1_iphoneos-arm.deb

wget http://apt.awkwardtv.org/pool/main/beigelist_2.2.3-3_iphoneos-arm.deb
dpkg -i beigelist_2.2.3-3_iphoneos-arm.deb
rm beigelist_2.2.3-3_iphoneos-arm.deb

Everything works now, hope this helps

Pablo

Many Many Thanks!

Ok, so i've been working on jb, and installing nito and xbmc for the last 4-6 days, and end up with different errors all the time. I recon that io have re-jailbroken my atv2 15-20 times by now, and i'm on the verge of giving up, and selling the damn thing. But i have had xbmc on it before, (in the glorified icefilms days), and as i remember, it was a piece of cake to install back then.

Anyway, this is my last efford, so please help me Smile

I've gotten the jailbreaking down now, but as i try to install nitotv and xbmc, 1 of 2 things usually happen. (i use putty)

1: failures after apt-get update
2: No picture on the atv2 after installing nitotv. The apple appears in the start, but then it goes to black. The LED flashes 3-4 times now and then.

I've tried numerous guides - the last one was the one in the upper post. But every time i end up in some failure, go back and restore in itunes, re-jb, and find some new guide. And so on and on.

I might have to add, that i'm no tech freak, so i dont know how to get my commands in here in my post, and neither the errors that i get in putty.

It seems that it's the updating that goes wrong every time, and it's always has something to do with that awkwardtv source.

So a guide that works with sources that also work would be much appreciated.

In advance, sorry for my bad english and spelling, but i'm from Denmark. Smile
