Cannot play videos, UI crash and restart
#1
Hi, some help would be very appreciated.

I cannot play videos. Whenever I choose a video to start playing the UI crashes and restarts.

This is the xmbc.log after the crash
http://sprunge.us/aQZK

This is a line that I think may be the one that describe de error
Code:
ERROR: GLX: Same window as before, refreshing context

This is the info from differnt commands
dmesg http://sprunge.us/fZUV
lsmod http://sprunge.us/dcBD

I'm using XBMC 11.0 Git:14feb09 (compiled: May 19 2012) installed with Openelec 1.95.4

Any ideas to solve this are very welcome...

thanks

I did some digging around and I think I found a thread that may lead to a solution, in looking at your log I think right now your main issue is with your nfs shares. Are there any media files you can play that do not cause your system to crash?

I tryied updating my openelec to the developer revision that is posted in the link you gave me. But nothing happend, its still crash and restart.
All video files make it crash. Music files (mp3) play nice, over nfs shares..

I'm getting an error when I try to connect a source via SMB,so I havent been able to test through samba.
ERROR2: share not available

Any other idea?
thanks

try setting up a network share using the ip address that the media is stored on. Are you posting on the Openelec forums as well?

Hi,

I had this problem, using OpenELEC "ION flavour" on a celeron CPU (I got an ION based device, but not with an atom CPU).

I moved on the Generic version => problem solved.

In fact, the ION version uses compiler optimisations for atom CPU that are not supported by celeron or core2 CPU. It didn't have any consequences until 1.95.4, probably because some base library started to use those specific instructions.
