Question  ATV2 + Newest OS + XBMC = not so great Post: #1
So, did I do something wrong, or are current builds not optimized yet? With 4.3 or 4.4 (cant remember which) I could play all mp4s mkvs etc and skip forward and back with no hiccups. Now, with 5.1 (or whatever they call the latest build) xbmc has audio issues with many mp4s and freaks out when skipping forward and back in any hd stuff. (goes green and sometimes cant get back going ok)

Did something mess up on my end, or is this par for the course currently.

Please dont misinterpret this message. This is NOT a slam of the developers, I love the software and am patient to wait, just want to make sure something isnt wrong on my end. Smile

ATV software version 4.3 is the better version for efficacy, but I've never heard of issues that drastic. Can you get us a debug log? iOS XBMC.log

You can make easy links to the XBMC wiki using double brackets around words: [[debug log]] = debug log, [[Add-on:YouTube]] = Add-on:YouTube, [[Adding videos to the library]] = Adding videos to the library, [[userdata]] = userdata, etc

I'm running iOS 5.1.1 and have no such issues. Much better than 4.4.4!

I have stuttering issues as well, it doesn't have smooth playback, sadly.
I'll upload the log as well.

My logs: http://cl.ly/0C2o2n0Y450n2w04373N
It's not the network or something, the previous version worked fine on 4.4.4, just a install of 5.0.1 (5.1.1) and installed the latest "special build" of xbmc (downloaded and installed this friday)

yep and why did you update ios? Its expected that the more stuff apple is putting in new ios versions, the less ressources are available for xbmc...

Very valid point, I updated for the new airplay enhancements.
But of course I should have waited to make sure all was well and or wise.

Mea culpa, hope it'll improve someday.
Please contact me if I can be of any help, if required or useful
At all!

Keep up the great work you (plural) do!
