hi,

just noticed that this guy developed the first bunch of code for xbmc - mediaportal integration. any one of you python developers want to help this guy out streamlining the code and helping out with the ui?

hi,

a new update of the scripts and plugin for mp has been released. a thread link in the previous post by mvoosten will lead you to download and more info.

or you can download direct from:
xbmc - mp script download

anyone wishing to make changes to the scripts is encouraged to do so and email me with the address found in the readme file. you should be able to make signifigant changes to the scripts without having to change the mp plugin code. all source is available in the download.

i have uploaded another update to http://home.iprimus.com.au/miarose/mp_xbmc.zip

the update should resolves lockups related to non-ascii characters that xbmc can not handle. all unknown characters will be replaced by a '?', this should not effect any functionality as all special characters are still part of communication with mediaportal.

also you do not require any channel groups as a default group for 'all channels' is now provided.

last but not least the install documentation is updated and online at http://home.iprimus.com.au/miarose/
this should make it a bit easier to setup due to some gaps in the previous readme :verysad:

please report any issues here or email with the contact in the readme.

just updated some screen shots of the next release that now has the pm3 look and feel.

taken a long time due to other commitments and some nasty bugs with the sknning engine i was trying to use which has now been scrapped.

anyway should hopefully have an update out this week and will post it in this thread when it is available.

i have updated the download at http://home.iprimus.com.au/miarose/ with a new release.

please read the readme beofre installing as a fresh install is required on xbmc due to directory and skin changes.

new in this release:
* pm3 skin as posted above, old skin has been removed.
* time selection dialog for 'what's on' search in epg
* some other little things you probably wont notice

next release:
* use xbmsp for recorded tv streaming (performance & transparent setup for users)
* epg guide like in mp showing all channels at once.

this is great... i've been waiting to setup a pvr until something worked well with xbmc. you have given me incentive to buy another pc and do the integration!

will the interface be able to stream live tv also? this is something i'm definitely looking for. if i can use xbmc as my main interface and watch tv through it that would be fantastic!

live tv streaming is not an option at the moment as it is not avalable in mediaportla. however mediaportal is currently undergoing some big changes in the tv engine which now records to its on transport stream files instead of ms dvr-ms so tv streaming is getting closer with these changes. still some time though.

why would they change from ms dvr-ms to ts?

btw, have you seen this watchhdtv free software?
