Just installed XMBC after reading about it for years and I am impressed !
I've used dedicated media streamers in the past, such as Netgear.
There is one feature I do miss, or cannot find how to do. This is to do with MTS/M2TS HD camcorder files, which the Netgear seems to handle well. The issues are:
1. When I play these files, you get slight tearing on the edges of items (such as buildings), but this does not happen when you play the same clip on the same PC using WMP.
2. The Netgear would allow me to play a set of clips within a folder gaplessly so that all your footage in one folder will play as one video. In XMBC, I've tried stacking, but there is still a 1-2 second gap between each file. Is MTS gapless playback possible, or is this a feature request?
Thanks in advance.

1. Bring up the on-screen-display (player controls while a video is playing back) and select the video options. Then turn on a deinterlacing option.
2. Not sure You can make easy links to the XBMC wiki using double brackets around words: [[debug log]] = debug log, [[Add-on:YouTube]] = Add-on:YouTube, [[Adding videos to the library]] = Adding videos to the library, [[userdata]] = userdata, etc |
