Hi,
XBMC performance in Ubuntu is really slow unless I do one of the following:
1) install lightdm and a desktop environment
or
2) install a DE, manually start pulseaudio before starting XBMC
or
3) run XBMC as root
1 and 2 point towards a pulseaudio issue because lightdm starts pulse, 3 confuses me though, when I "startx xbmc" as root it performs just fine
I'd like to know how to get pulse audio working without lightdm or a DE or an alternative to using pulse audio please
