ISK310-150 vs ISK300-65
#1
Ah...because of a certain Mr. B and Mr. E here in the forum Smile it has been extremely hard to find a ISK300-65 system from a retail/online vendor, I was browsing around for a box to house my 2125 system (it's currently in a ISK100 case, it's tight and can't fit a 3rd party fan), end up picking up a ISK310-150 box from Frys to play with.

If you see from the pic the connector from the power source sticks out and actually interferes with 3rd party heat sink, I end up putting back the amd cooler for my a6-3500 system for testing. The PS fan when spinning low is ok noise-wise but when spin up does produce some amount of noise. Because of these 2 issues I'll probably get a pico PS and swap out the stock PS for the 310 case.

If you've read some of my posts in beer's A6-pack thread, here, you can see the shuriken rev B. with the asrock A75M mb fits perfectly in the ISK300 case even with the drive cage installed.

Unfortunately for the h67m motherboard the cpu socket is off to the left and a little more in front, so the cage won't fit any more Sad, anyway removing it probably gives better airflow.

Here's my i3 2125+asrock h67m system in a ISK300-65 case, using a 90W power brick.

I measured the power usage using kill-a-watt for the same system using the pico power brick and the ISK310-150 PS, you can see significant difference.

Code:
A6-3500                A6-3500               i3 2125         i3 2125
                            300-90W                310-150 ps            300-90W         310-150

max power spike             67W                    78W                   50-51W          64W
from boot to xbmcbuntu

idling in info screen       34W (2100)             ~41W                  34-35           48W (3300)
                            29W (800)                                                    47W (1600)

playing a certain 720       34-35 (spike 40-41)    47-49 (spike 54-57)   35 (spike 40)   46-47 (spike 53)
rmvb

playing a ripped blueray    29-30                  43-44                 38              53-54
mkv

playing a 1080 TS file      36                     49-50                 35-36           48-49

Can't beat the pico systems! Smile

Yes the ISK 300-150 the power plug gets in the way.... CptHOOK confirmed that with an aftermarket cooler. I also wrote it down on my thread.

Thank you for the testing!!!!
