Dont worry about my issues, I always appreciate people like yourselves who work on a solution and provide it to the community! Thanks

I decided not to continue with HS due to the constant jitter of their HD feeds which were apparent on my PC which is no slouch. I went a way I could rely on great video from the provider.....

This is trying to view an archived stream. Will try a live stream tonight when the Habs game starts and I'll post a log of that as well.

I just modified the plugin to utilize the HDstreams SDstreams arrays to fetch the streams per changes implemented by billy mentioned at http://www.hockeystreams.com/support/cat...+VLC+in+HD
I believe The SD/HD streams are all istreams.

Also, I'm using external VLC player to play the streams as the internal XBMC player does not work very well. Below is my playercorefactory.xml (located in userdata path of XBMC) if anyone is interested.

<playercorefactory>
<players>
<player name="VLC" type="ExternalPlayer" audio="false" video="true">
<filename>C:\Utils\vlc\vlc.exe</filename>
<args>"{1}" --no-qt-fs-controller --qt-start-minimized --qt-fullscreen-screennumber=2 --video-x=1930 --video-y=100 --no-embedded-video --fullscreen --video-on-top --no-video-title-show --play-and-exit</args>
<hidexbmc>true</hidexbmc>
<hideconsole>true</hideconsole>
<warpcursor>none</warpcursor>
</player>
</players>
<rules action="prepend">
<rule filename="http://*" player="VLC"/>
</rules>
</playercorefactory>

@fungus1487 - I hope you don't mind me modify the plugin. Please feel free to add these changes to the official release or disregard them if you want to take a different approach.

I've attached the zip containing the v2.3.1 with may changes. Please download and use install from zip functionality in xbmc to update/install the plugin.

Excellent work, the mod is fine. I haven't looked at it yet but I assume you just changed the URL the api looks up.

I may add this as a setting so people can toggle it on/off into the main release. Yes XBMC handling of istream is pretty cruddy so VLC is a much better handler for it.

Thanks. The URL is still the same, but now the response contains HDstreams and SDstreams. My change uses the HDstreams and SDstreams instead of the original streams array. Also, I exclusively look for istreams in the arrays and wmv and flash are ignored.

Another useful thing to add may be HOME and AWAY indicator to each stream as some games have multiple feeds and it currently looks like a duplicate line without any differentiation.

the mod works for me, except istreams still pause after a few minutes. not sure why that would be Sad

Same for me! I'm running it from a Raspberry PI running OpenElec, log don't seem to contain anything useful. I don't know what to do. I would prefer running this app with xbmc instead of my android device since the audio quality of my PI is by far superior and a lot more stable!

This problem should be fixed soon, and you won't have to use VLC for iStreams. The issue affecting iStreams+XBMC has been fixed.

Do you have any evidence of this? Would be good to confirm

For what it's worth, HLS from HS working with the native XBMC player for 2h30s with no issues -- changes are not live on the site yet though.

Changes are live. Seems to be working OK with your plugin.

iStreams should finally playback properly in XBMC.
