Yeah, uninstalled XBMC, removed userdata folder (backed it up first, obviously), and installed new. Puzzling.

Are you doing any advancedsettings.xml tweaks? Specifically dirty regions?

Nope, the only thing I was doing in the advancedsettings.xml prior to changing machines was to change the multiple genre separator to a semicolon. The new install doesn't have any advanced setting changes.

Sorry, but I'm baffled. Have you done the Direct X web installer yet?

Me too. :| I keep coming back to the idea that it's something to do with the refresh rate, but I know too little about that to be able to figure out a way to say one way or another.

Might just return the netbook and buy one that's been vetted by the community as, well, working.

Thanks for your help, though. Smile

Been fighting with this issue, finally found a solution. I had this issue with a brand new foxconn i4000 box with a GMA 3600 adapter running Win7 32bit.

The solution for me was to try driver version 8.14.8.1077 at:

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_D...ldID=21138

It's not listed if you search specficially for GMA 3600 drivers, but it's been working fine on my machine and cured the flicker. Previously I was running the "newest" listed 8.14.8.1065.

Great find, SausageKing! I've already returned the netbook for a more powerful machine, but hopefully this will help people in the future.

hey there,

I have exacly same problem on my Acer One @Atom N2600 (2GB RAM) w/ Intel GMA 3600.
I've installed the *.1077 drivers as advised by SausageKing.
Flickering in the menu is gone Smile
However playing movies aint good. It's either not fluent or with black flashes and or black squeres covering a mayor part of the screen. Is anybody else having issues like I do after upgrading to the newest drivers?
fps is arround 20
cpu load is average 9.4%
i am running ff-h264-dxva2 picture is 23.976 fps

This problem occurs with xvid and x264.

I am running Win7 32bit
XBMC 11 Eden

EDIT: 22.06.2012
I've returned my device back to the shop, but the question remains still valid for those that plan to use it as htpc.
