Just like every new wireless standard I expect the first set of routers to be expensive and crap. I personally won't touch a wireless standard until the second gen hardware hits- my closet has a bunch of draft N stuff to teach me that lesson.

I agree with the majority of you. My priority at this point is to NOT go wireless. I am technology impaired and I will mess up on something, I don't want to have an unreliable network to add to the list, lol. My first option will be to contact my service provider (Comcast/ixfinity) and see if they can install an additional access point on the second floor. Hopefully that will solve the problem, if not, I will look into the powerline adapters.

have you looked into MOCA. i converted from homeplug to MOCA and been really impressed. had cable outlets all over the house and get good connection speed

+1 for MoCA....much more reliable than powerline adapters

If your areas are on outside walls you could always run a cat5/6 cable up the outside of the building. It only takes 2 holes drilled.
