I'm looking for device/pc that is small, quiet and would allow me to play files from server, where i can run any not resource intense SW, ie. plex media server. I found xtreamer ultra http://www.xtreamer.net/ultra/ and it seams nice. Is it able to play any files without problem?

The Ultra 2 was also in my evaluation 8 weeks ago.
Then I get a tipp for the LENOVO Q180 2gb RAM.
Now I have that HTPC since 6-7 weeks running in
my Homecinema and almost happy.
The Lenovo is small, the fan noise is acceptable quit.
And I can play all formats up to 1080 24p.
Also I have audio output via HDMI for DTS-HD, TrueHD.

I did not notice Ultra2 so that would be one i'm interested now.
Mostly i'm asking because in this http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=94199 thread some celeron build are mentioned as not to be able certain files.
So why did you choice Q180 over Ultra2? Did you have some problems with Ultra2?
Ultra2 is still bit cheaper and from their webpage it seams like it is build more towards htpc then q180.

It was a recommandation from a XBMC nerd "mad-max". He is very experienced with XBMC
and devloped e.g. the confluence mod skin.

I told him to evaluate the best but also the cheapest solution for me.
I only paid for the Lenovo 249 Euros, plus IR 29€.
And the Lenovo is playing in combination with XBMC everything.

The reason not again invest in Xtreamer is from my past experiences with Xtreamer.
Before I invested in the Lenovo I had the Xtreamer PRO. The support on the end
form Xtreamer was poor. They support after 2 years not further their devices with
updates and so on.
Perhaps with the Ultra 2 is it different, cause they offer it with XBMC installed.
So you don't need to have any support from Xtreamer.
