I have a large movie collection. Metadata for all my movies has already been scraped, corrected and modified to my preferences with ember media manager. All these metadata files and posters/fanarts are in the same folder as the movies themselves.

Whenever I add my movie folder to XBMC, it insists on re-scraping everything. It gets more than a few wrong. How can I force XBMC to use my existing metadata instead of incorrectly re-inventing the wheel?

As long as you correctly set "Movies in separate folders named after the movie" you will have no problem at all.

My movies are not in separate folders - they are all in one folder.

So in one folder you have (say) 100 movies, 100 nfo files, 100 posters, 100 fanarts and so on? If so, set "Movies in separate folders named after the movie" off and all will be fine.
