For the time being, that is correct. What you could do, though, is to compile your own xbmc with the patch applied.

If we would work around every bug introduced by third party (be it imon or M$) the code would be even worse than now (not that I think this would be of interest for any user which isn't a dev).

Is there a list of "supported' IR devices for XBMC? Or will that always be influx?

Actually iMON claims that this bug in DirectX code. XBMC just started to use DirectInput for joystick.

Have patience. Karlsson and the xbmc developers are trying to work out which way is the Right Way to fix this.

So far we have 7 affected users commenting. Ofcourse, I'm sure there are many more out there that aren't yet affected (they're not using nightlies), but it appears that it's not a bug in our code and is instead a general problem with iMon's interaction with DirectInput, I'm not sure it's appropriate for XBMC to have a workaround unless that workaround is actually generally useful.

The reason is that whilst the amount of code is minimal, the support burden is not - It is inevitable that it will break in the future and require fixing again, which is a pain in the arse both support-wise on the forum as well as a pain in the arse for whoever has to fix it (most likely working blind).

As a first step, it would be nice if we had someone from SoundGraph look at the code in question in XBMC and make sure we're not doing something silly. If you need pointers as to where the code in question is, let us know.

Cheers,
Jonathan

Compiled latest nightly with useJoystick patсh on Intel Compiler - should be a little bit faster than compiled with MS compiler.
Only EXE - just put in folder with your nightly installation of XBMC.

BTW do you feel any speed difference between MS build and Intel Compiler build?
It' a lot of troubles every time to get build created with Intel Compiler, so I need to know is it worth to have it.

Quote:...there is no way to fix game controller issue without changing HW.
Please try to disable enumerating game controller in XBMC.

New nightly build.
Forget about advancedsettings.xml - everything in GUI now.
