On my fresh install of xbmcbuntu I've ran into a problem with offline media.
If I insert a disc / dvd after xbmc has already started, it seems the disc doesnt get mounted, and I cant find the disc when browsing my files. If I start the pc with the disc on, xbmc will start with it mounted and the files can be found when browsing my files, but if I eject and reinsert the disc, it cannot be found or played. It can only finds discs that are already loaded when it starts or if I exit to the desktop screen and enter xbmc again.
This drives discs completely useless.
Has someone experienced this or come to an answer?

Same here, automount of data DVDs/CDs within xbmc seems to be broken. As I have already tried and changed too many things for a proper bug report, could you try one of the following:
1) Insert an Audio-CD and check if it is "playable"
2) Insert a Movie-DVD and check if it is "playable"
3) On the desktop, confirm that automounting of data CDs/DVDs works fine.

Let's see if we can file a proper bug report then.
