I am so confused I'm about to pull my hair out.
I use Ember Media Manager and it has worked great for me. However I ripped my Ken Burns Documentaries and the scraping results have been disappointing. The absolute worst is the series "National Parks Americas Best Idea (2009)"
http://www.pbs.org/nationalparks/about/episode-guide/
I have tried everything I know to do and it still comes out a mess.
Any thoughts?

I scraped them as Movies because the IMDB was way more complete than TVDB. Because that gave so-so results I tried scraping them as TV through XBMC and the TVDB and I got back an identification of all the series being CDC which is the Canadian Documentary Channel. Guess I'll go back to identifying them as movies.

Try dropping the (2009) from the title, adding 'The' to the name and make sure your files have Season and Episode numbers.
The TVDB has an entry for the series - see here http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=116171&lid=7.

Thanks for the reply. I did as you suggested and it didnt help the situation.
Really they have to reside in Movies its the only way to get them to display nearly correctly. The TVDB is just too weak to really help. I suppose the Ken Burns Documentary series is kinda esoteric. I now have all kinds of duplicate entries, how do I clear the library of duplicates? |

I don't know what either you or Ember are doing incorrectly, I just scraped the relevant info to my library, using 'dummy' movie files named as follows:-
C:\TV Shows\The National Parks America's Best Idea\s01e01, s01e02 etc Perhaps time to revisit your naming convention - though your choice which way you decide to go. Certainly have never found tvdb to be 'weak' providing the files are named correctly ie - exactly as recorded on the tvdb and the fact that it has an entry on tvdb would suggest that the series is certainly not esoteric. Obviously you will have to delete the files and then run a 'clean' library - System\System\Video\Library\Clean Library

I recently grabbed a few Ken Burns series. Prohibition and The Dust Bowl scraped with TVDB just fine.
But the Natioanl Parks series just does not want to scrape for me. I can select the folder under "Videos" and upon Refreshing information for that folder, the title and series is correct. I update my library and it is not added. The naming is correct, and I've tried 4 or 5 different titles for the folder. |

I just created a folder in my "TV shows" directory and named it "The National Parks America's Best Idea". Inside this folder, I placed 6 dummy files representing the 6 episodes with the following naming convention:
Code: The National Parks America's Best Idea S01E01.aviI scanned my "TV shows" directory for new content and it picked up the show and all 6 episodes and added them to my library. Each episode has the full title (as listed on TVDB), fanart, thumbnail, plot summary, air date, rating, year, director, runtime, etc. Upload a debug log to http://www.xbmclogs.com that shows you scanning your library to add this series, and post the assigned URL for your uploaded log here with your reply.

It seems it was from TVDB being down for those hours. I scraped the next day and it got all the info jsut fine. Odd thouhg, seeing as Refreshing the show info from Videos came up with the correct TVDB entry... I guess somethign specific to the scraper functionw as still down? Whatever the case, it works fine.
Folder is named as you mentioned above, with eps names as my usual 1x01, 1x02, etc. |
