HTPC - BSOD & problems with crashing
#1
Hey guys,

I'm a bit at wits end with my HTPC and hoping someone can help.

I'll start by saying that I'm not super IT minded but can get around okay and I know Google is my friend.

My setup is:

HP ProLiant N40L microserver box
1 x Seagate 250 GB HDD (supplied with box)
2 x 2TB Hitachi Deskstar HDD
4GB DDR3 (replacing the 2GB DDR 3ECC RAM supplied with the box)
AMD Radeon 6450 HD graphics (for HDMI out) - I was running CCC 12.4 but dropped back to 12.3 due to some issues I was having with 12.4. The crashes reduced, but not eradicated altogether.

All this is hooking up to my Pioneer VSX-921 receiver via HDMI.

I did some googling and found this thread::http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=131747 and I have followed the stuff I am able to do in that thread ie:

-On-board video was disabled when the box was built
-scrubbed all video drivers off the system
-Reinstalled drivers.

I've also done the Driversweeper thing to get rid of any other stuff.

I don't know about the chipset drivers thing, over my head.

I have done a Whocrashed analysis attached below via pastebin.

Probably the only other relevant factor I can think of, purely in terms of what's going on when it happens, I use a Usenet service with browser called Newshosting. Seems like the server has been fine and crash free for about three days until today I loaded about 30GB to get downloaded via this service and it crashed. Same thing happened last week, so I think this software program or process may have something to do with it. Never had problems with the software on my laptop though...

Happy to provide anything else I may have missed, I've tried to look around at what info people want so hopefully I've done okay in that regard.
