I think any app that is sending content over the HDMI would cause it. Do you have any other apps that send content over HDMI you could also test with?

Kricker I appreciate your help on this!
I ran a test using MPC-HC on the same television program. I have a HTPC connected to a Pioneer SC-05 AVR via HDMI connected to a Pioneer Kuro 6010FD via HDMI. I also have a DirecTV set top box and a Blu-Ray player also connected to the AVR via seperate HDMI connections. Opened the television program in MPC-HC in full screen exclusive mode. Kept the program running and then I then switched my HDMI inputs to my Blu-Ray player and then my DirecTV box and watched video for each of those. I then switched back to the HTPC. The television program was running and audio was heard. I then started XBMC and played the same television program within XBMC. I kept it running and switched my HDMI inputs as before. When I switched back to the HTPC the video was frozen with no audio. I needed to ctrl-alt-del to task manager to stop the XBMC process. Once again I played the television program in MPC-HC. Kept the program running and powered off my television. After a short delay of a second or two I started hearing the audio from the program. When I turned the television back on the program was running with audio. I tried the same thing while watching the television program in XBMC. I kept the program running and turned off the television. I kept it off for a while and never heard any audio. When I turned my television back on the program was frozen and I needed to ctrl-alt-del to task mgr to stop the XBMC process. So for me MPC-HC did not cause any problems when the television was switched off or HDMI inputs changed. Video or audio running in XBMC freezes the system for me when I turn tv off or switch HDMI inputs. |

So it sounds like a true bug. Next step is to check Trac to see if a tickets exists already. If not, time to make one.

Thanks Kricker. To clarify are you asking me to submit a ticket to Trac or is this something you are saying you will do? I'm not familiar with how to do this so if you wanted me to submit one please let me know.
