I feel like I must be missing something simple but I can't find a setting to expand the submenu automatically when the parent main menu item is selected. What am I missing? Thanks.

In Settings/Skin/Customizers/Customize Home Window Furniture press Enter and then select Always Show Submenu

I've been through all the furniture settings I can find and don't see "Always Show Submenu" anywhere. Which section should be highlighted?

it only appears when you´re using GIT version. 3.0.1 doesn´t have that feature.
