I downloaded the main Current Stable Release: 11.0 “Eden” and it has an HD next to the movie title

that's eden with a patch that allows bitstreaming of hd audio.

it's easy to get confused. there is one patch for the old audio system which allows hd audio bitstreaming. that's the one which is applied to eden there. then we have our AudioEngine, which is a complete rewrite of the audio system (which also allows for hd bistreaming). this is what was merged when we did that post you pasted.
