I haven't purchased my CPU yet and just saw this one went on sale for $59 - AMD Athlon II X3 450 Rana 3.2GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Desktop Processor

This one is cheaper and has a faster processor (3.2GHz), both have triple core, but the A6 has integrated graphics (but I'm not sure how important that is with a HTPC...)

Thanks. Big Grin

Integrated graphics is very important.... Smile

I would stick to the A6..... I don't know if you seen my build but there are pointers in it. I was the one who tested out the Shuriken 2100 and many other components....

So I think the PicoPSU is in my future after reading your thread, Beer. I'm considering the picoPSU-120 120w output 12v input DC-DC Power Supply, as opposed to the 90W since I'd like a little extra power for insurance. However I totally get confused with what power supply to get to make it worthwhile. I'd prefer to use ebay if possible...

Any help would be wonderful! Thanks!!

If you want to use larger than an 8A-8.5A AC adapter with the 12V 120W picoPSU you need to get a 4-pin harness and AC adapter so be prepared to mod your case for this special connector.

You'd be better off either getting the 90W picoPSU (which comes with the CPU power LP4 plug integrated)
E.g.: http://www.ebay.com/itm/picoPSU-90-12V-7...0941809122

If you must have a 120W picoPSU go with the 120-WI-25 which can use a 19V AC adapter, lowering the amperage needed to achieve 120W and therefore not needing the 4-pin harness.
E.g: http://www.ebay.com/itm/PicoPSU-120-WI-2...0288430079
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LiteOn-19V-6-3A-...0471712559
You'll also need a molex splitter and molex-to-P4 adapter

Thanks again for your help, Dougie. It sounds like the 90W is the way to go. So if I understand this right, if I get the 90W you suggested I wouldn't need any other plug accessories? I'll only have the 1 SSD for a drive and no optical drive (at this time). I don't plan to use any case fans - only the Shuriken for the CPU.
