Warning: Memory Low

I am getting an error message on XMBC Warning: Memory Low.

I am currently using an iMac compeer to run XMBC, I have 2 GB of Ram on the computer. I have been using XMBC for well over a week and this is the first time this error message has come up. What do I do to fix it?

Could be a memory leak in XBMC or something else you're running. Have you tried quitting XBMC and reopening it, or rebooting the computer?

2GB of RAM should be more than enough for XBMC and Mac OS X, but there are various things that can happen to cause this.

See if you can get us a debug log (wiki) of when this message pops up. That will tell us what XBMC is doing "under the hood", as well as some basic info on your XBMC settings that might provide clues.

What version are you using? There were two separate bugs that were fixed just the other day that could see thumbnail textures go awol which chews through memory quite quickly.
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.

I am using Version 11 of XBMC

And here is a debug log screen cap of what is going on

For a while it seemed to be when my computer was downloading other programs from outside of XBMC it was coming up with that error, so I tried shutting down the downloads while using XBMC and that seemed to work for the most part. But its happening again and now nothing seems to be fixing it.

Those screenshots are not very useful... Ned was asking for the actual debug log (wiki) which, based on your screenshot, is located at /Users/keith/Library/Logs/xbmc.log. Please re-create the low-memory error (while debug is still enabled) and upload your xbmc.log file to a public paste site such as pastebin.com. Make a note of the URL assigned to your uploaded log and then post the URL here.

My apologies I have never done this before. Ok I think I have done this right so here is the link for the debug log

http://pastebin.com/PTTCtHag

I'm not sure if that was the correct log, there was another one here if that helps (sorry I'm new at this):

http://pastebin.com/A7DU9ikt

Ok I hope this is enough information for someone to help me. Thanks in advance.

reasunach,

First of your links was a crash log I think, second while a log file is not a debug log file. You need to go into
the setting/system/debugging menu and set 'enable debug logging'. Set this setting and then do whatever
caused the low memory message to appear on home screen (that message appears in my skin when you
have less that 10% free memory). Repost a pastebin link to the new log file and then someone may be able to help.

As a side note, I'm just about to post an update to Passion repo (and then main repo when bugs have been
shaken loose) that will include a new skin setting menu called support. Menu will give you access to the download
debug log script to make it easier to post required debug logs. But in the mean time please follow above instructions
to download required debug log.

If required a FULL debug log can now be submitted from the skin in settings->skin settings->support. Or follow instructions here if you can't access skin settings.

Ok I believe that I have found a different way to get a debug log report via the XBMC Log Uploader in the programs option on XBMC

Here is the log report:

reasunach,

Funny enough, that is the script that will be included in the support menu. Sorry there is no point in the posted log file
where you get below 1G of free memory, let alone having less than 10% free memory. Try to keep an eye on what seems
to trigger the low memory message and try to post a log file of a session that includes the problem. Other than than, sorry
not much we can do for you at this stage. Maybe caused by an external program grabbing a big chunk of memory.
