I'm new to XBMC so apologies if this is a silly question. I've had a quick search but couldn't find the answer.

I have 2 video sources configured, one for Movies and one for TV Shows, so they both appear as seperate menu items on my main navigation strip (I'm using Aeon Nox if that makes any difference).

Is there a way of assigning a keyboard shortcut to take me straight to Movies, and likewise for TV Shows, rather than having to go back 'home', then click left or right until I get to either Movies or TV Shows? It would be nice if one keypress could take me straight into my Movies or TV Shows view.

Welcome to the XBMC forums.

If you're not already aware, you'll need to create a custom keyboard.xml file with your desired keyboard shortcuts, as explained in this wiki page. The actions you want to map to your keyboard shortcuts are:

• ActivateWindow(Videos,TVShowTitles) to display "TV Shows"
  
• ActivateWindow(Videos,MovieTitles) to display "Movies"
