Davilla says GoogleTV's lack the Android NDK (native development kit) which was used to port XBMC, you can apparently hack GoogleTV's to install the NDK but unless Google add it themselves there will be no easy way to run it on a GoogleTV.

Is this rebranded Pivos XIOS DS?

Those are another amlogic 8726 Android box, there are many of them out there (the OEM is Geniatech) and I have one but XBMC doesn't work properly on it. In the future it might run okay on the generic 8726 Android boxes if you buy one and want to wait it out, but getting a Pivos XIOS is the safest bet.
Geniatech is releasing xbmc build for their oem soon, see here, it is not a bad news

Here is an interesting contender stepping into the market, Samsung with their Homesync box, 1GB RAM, dual core CPU,, ethernet, optical, HDMI 1.4, miracast runs Android 4 with market and a 1TB internal HDD + 8GB flash storage. Due to launch in April in select countries, update: hands on and video demo.

I'd assume it's a Samsung Arm chip that powers this so it will be interesting to see how well it handles XBMC if it can run it at all & provided libstagefright could work with it.

Samsung's HomeSync looks really nice. If xbmc can run smoothly on it I will definitively buy one.

I'm having trouble with this one... I have XBMC running on my MK808 android stick and it runs fantastically, my only problem so far is getting the Youtube videos to play, I can tell them to run, but MX Player can't play them... Has anyone run into this and found a solution to remedy it?

Running fantastically? Really? If you are absolutely honest if it plays 720P and 1080P high profile MKVs with 5.1 I believe you, otherwise not

Well. while I can't say much for the 5.1, as I don't have the setup for it, so far it has been playing my 720p and 1080p files from hdd just fine with no stutters and freezes... I have it rooted running Finless 1.7b, didn't even test stock, just went straight to custom rom... So for ME, yes, its running fantastically, even more so when you consider the price... take what you will from that... its just my 2 cents...

can someone please confirm if it's still ok to flash latest XIOS M3 firmware to a Sumvision Nano+ M3?
http://www.pivosforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=669

having a few issues which are may or may not be due to the xbmc apk, would like to update ICS just in case..

thanks & sorry for not reading entire thread, about page 35-38 people were reporting this was ok.

edit: seems a build.prop edit for device id might be needed, slightly nervous about doing this! can anyone confirm what they did please?
http://www.xbmchub.com/forums/pivos-xios...print.html

to be clear it's not linux i want, but the updated Android with various fixes.

update: this is bizarre.
after trying (and failing) to update using the Pivos ICS update, my Nano has found OTA updates and taken itself from an August 2012 to December 2012 build of ICS. no idea what that fixes or who it's from! may have been triggered by the bootloader (?) update i installed from
http://www.xbmchub.com/forums/xbmc-andro...model.html

but Play Store is still not working (quits when opened, no error) so i have a fairly big problem still.

it's found another update.zip by itself so guess i'll let that install.. slightly nervous having no idea what these updates are/who they're from.

update #2:
applied all the updates (it flashed two more files in recovery)
and Play Store latest ver seems to be working! hurrah.

it still says December 2012 but wanted those 2 more updates.

most obvious change is the status bar (android bottom bar) is now on top of XBMC and has volume buttons.. this is not good! need to find a way to remove that.
updates seem to be coming from Geniatech. nothing in changelog looked relevant.

***

edit: still not sure about flashing newer pivos firmware, anyone confirm please?
