Movies & XBMC & Metadata - How?
#1
Hi All

Brief overview of setup :

Server for media files
HTPC for XBMC

I use couch potato to download and organise movies for XBMC. After couch potato does its magic each movie folder contains the following:

fanart
movie-name.idx
movie-name.mkv
movie-name.sub
movie (system information file)
movie.tbn

I am now looking to replicate this with my archive of movies. How do I do this?

To test I did simply place a movie folder to the XMBC path, with only a .mkv and .sub. XMBC loaded this and downloaded all of the meta data which was perfect - but where was this stored? Why did it not save it to the movie folder on the server?

Thanks

It's stored in the XBMC database. In order to export them you'll just have to go to the video settings and choose export (separate files). Choose to not overwrite when asked.
