Wow. Now I have XBMC working on my 7 inch cheapo chinese tablet. Sometimes it hangs but a quick restart usually fixes it.
I have installed TV Catchup and IPlayer plugins on my device. They load fine but then continuously buffer and then stop when choosing a live channel. Has anyone else managed to get these to work on Android?
I have managed to get other steaming plugins to work without a hitch but not these.
Also. Is it possible to access films from my PC whilst out and about with my tablet?
I have seen SMB mentioned a few times, but I presume that I can only share folders to my tab when I am on a local network at home?
Any help would be appreciated.

Regarding the plugins:
It doesn't make too much sense to start debugging those issues before we hit a stable base. You could definetly share SMB over WAN, but you would open up your network to possible intruders. There are quite a few possible solutions to this problem, but it all boils down to "you probably don't have the upstream anyhow". If your connection at home isn't symmetric (which it probably isn't) you just can plain forget to start video-streaming from your home network, it would be way to slow (despite the fact that most ISPs (if not all) prohibit such services from private connections). Need help? Check out my XBMC Eden Guide. It contains full featured guides to Sickbeard and CouchPotato as well. |

Thanks Henry. Like to you say it's not a stable release yet. Just getting a little carried away with the possibility of streaming on my tab.
I stream my movie collection via remote potato to my android anyway but just wondered if XBMC could also do this. XBMC for Android is looking good though. Runs quite fast and judder free on my tablet but we have some way to go with development before it's truly stable on most devices. |

It runs perfect here on my Qware pro3 tablet only audio issues as mentioned in XDA topic so reverted back to previous version.
Only thing missing for me now is NFS support but that shouldn't take to long i think. |
