I am noticing that some of my MP4 files are not playing. They work on my phones video player and my win 7 laptop but when i try to play them on XBMCbuntu it does not show the picture and I do get sound.
Im have Ubuntu 11.10 with XBMCbuntu.

I even downloaded XBMC for windows and plays the offending MP4 with no issues.

Any ideas.

known issue with nvidia and Eden. this is fixed in http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=134252

So if i do this

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:wsnipex/xbmc-xvba
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

this will update me.
How stable will this release be?

yes
and ymmv as those are alpha builds(although tested), but users report a much better experience

Am I right in thinking I can test them out and roll back if not happy.
Will update on Sunday as having friends over tomorrow night and can live with the issues I have as I know them,

Right just did an update and still the same problem so not fixed with the update.

does it only happend with mp4? can you please post a mediainfo of the file?
