Solved Specials in T.V. Series
#1
So I am trying to fix this issue which is probably a setting. I have several T.V. Shows that in each season there were some specials. This is the folder structure I have for an example

TV Shows>Doctor Who>

Season 0 (specials)
Season 1
Season 2
etc.

What is happening is that all the specials are showing up in every season when I view them in XBMC. In XBMC I do have an episode entry called Specials, but again, if I go in to season 4 I see the correct season episodes and all the specials

How can I fix it where I do not see the specials in any of the seasons and just contain them in Specials? I have the smae issue with Band of Brothers and other ones I have.

This is the same way I have my set-up and see this exact issue you mention, the specials are marked within the seasons as 'S0,S1' etc... so it's not to be confused with a regular episode and only the specials for that season are listed... So not to miss-read your post, to clarify; you see ALL the specials in all the seasons or only those 'specials' associate with a particular season? If it's the former, then your naming convention doesn't match the TVdb, and if it's the later then your issue is with how the TVdb list and include specials, and how this is handled by the the skin. Not sure you will get a simple fix here... but I could be wrong.

Let me use some more details. Let's say the T.V. show has only 3 episodes in it and the special is in season 4 and well call it episode 34. This is how it looks on my system

T.V. show, season 1, episodes 1,2,3 and the last one 34 (this is the special)

T.V. show, season 2, episodes 1,2,3 and the last one 34 (this is the special)

T.V. show, season 3, episodes 1,2,3 and the last one 34 (this is the special)

T.V. show, season 4, episodes 1,2,3 and the last one 34 (this is the special)

T.V. show, Special, episode 34 (this is the special)

So just wondering if this is something I did wrong, if I missed a setting or if this is the way it is? Thanks for your reply

Yes something wrong here...this is how it should look....

T.V. show, season 1, episodes 1,2,3
T.V. show, season 2, episodes 1,2,3
T.V. show, season 3, episodes 1,2,3
T.V. show, season 4, episodes 1,2,3 and the last one 34 (this is the special)
T.V. show, Special, episode 34 (this is the special)

Using Dr. Who as the example... my specials look like this, and are in TVDB as.

s2005-12-25-Doctor.Who.Christmas Invasion
s2006-12-25.The Runaway Bride (Christmas Special)
s2007-12-25.Doctor.Who.Voyage of the damned
s2008-12-25.Christmas.Special.The.Next.Doctor.(better res)
s2009-01-01.Doctor.Who.at.The.Proms
s2009-04-11.Doctor Who 2009 Planet of the Dead [MM]
s2009-11-15.Doctor Who-The.Waters.Of.Mars
s2009-12-25.Doctor Who The end of time
s2010-01-01.Doctor Who The End Of time Part2
s2010-12-25.Doctor Who A Christmas. Carol Special
s2011-12-25-The Doctor the widow and the wardrobe

I suspect you're using a different naming scheme?

I was just using that as a simple example, the real scheme in my system is

Season 1 (Folder level)
Doctor Who (2005) - 1x01 - Rose
Doctor Who (2005) - 1x02 - The End of the World
Doctor Who (2005) - 1x03 - The Unquiet Dead
and so on

I also have a folder called "Season 0". Here are the first few

Doctor Who (2005) - 0x02 - The Christmas Invasion
Doctor Who (2005) - 0x04 - The Runaway Bride
Doctor Who (2005) - 0x07 - Voyage of the Damned
and so on

It looks like your set up is year-month-day. I'll have to play with that. I have my system pulling from the tvdb as well, got to look at my settings then.
