Bug  frodo a 3: Win & ATV2 - thumbnails and fanart via ftp Post: #1
Hi,

I have a problem with frodo alpha 3 both on windows 7 and on ATV2.

I imported my old database from my Win7 eden xbmc due to a broken ATV2 (which was the preferred family xbmc with good thumbs, fanart, etc.). The Win7 xbmc was used mainly for testing and importing new media. They both shared a mySQL DB.

Now with frodo I could have the same artwork both on Win7 and ATV2 when I use the mySQL database, so I switched to the unstable branch.

My videos are on a NAS and I am using ftp to access my files.

The artwork is scraped with Ember and is inside the folders of the tv shows and the movies.

Now I have the problem: I can not set thumbs, fanart or banners with Win7 or the ATV2 anymore with frodo!

Maybe it could be an issue with ftp? Should I drop my database and reload it via smb, for example? Does anybody have the same issue? Or am I completely wrong with my assumption?

ATM I cannot post any log, but next week I will be back on my hardware to log it, if neccesary.

Sorry for bumping, but maybe I have not made clear the problem...

When I want to manually set a thumbnail I can browse (via the ftp-ed source) and click on the jpg-file. But this picture is not set, it is the same icon as before.

OK,
so I dropped the database and edited my sources.xml and mediasources.xml on both machines (Win7 and ATV2) to smb, and am now scanning again.
Now I am able change the pictures manually... Cool

Maybe frodo really has a prob with ftp and pictures? It seems so, maybe someone can confirm? Huh

With my local conditions (network, NAS and mySQL-DB) smb is muuuch faster than ftp, so the change was a good one, at the bottom line and I will hang on to it. Since I scraped almost all of the files with Ember the new scrape is acceptable, because it is quite fast and I have all the pictures already. Smile
