Yes, Linux would freeze while doing routine things like browsing this forum. I do not know if it is coincidence but this started happening after I installed ir-keytable so I could get the remote working (which is yet another frustration -- most keys like left, up, down, right, volume up/down worked but play and "OK" did not).

Worth a try?

I may try OpenElec in a few weeks after I catch up on work I have neglected while trying to fix the hiccup problem.
