Planning my first HTPC....
#1
I have read quite a bit about HTPC builds and I think I have most of the bases covered, so based on what I've read I have started piecing together the parts for my first HTPC. I just started at Newegg and put a few things together. Here is what I have so far :

[Case] - NMEDIAPC HTPC 1000B
[Mobo] - ECS (EliteGroup) H77H2-M3(1.0)
[CPU + iGPU] - Intel Core i3-2105
[PSU] - FSP Group (Fortron Source) FSP450-60GHS(85)-R

[SSD] - OCZ PTL1-25SAT3-64G Huh Is that big enough
[RAM] - Crucial CT51264BD160B

And Accessories :

[IR Receiver] - Gyration GYAM5600RF
[Remote] - Logitech Harmony 650
[CD\DVD\Blu-Ray] - LG ELECTRONICS UH12LS29

According to the sticky post I am "group 7". I expect to have all the following functionality :

- Play SD movies (DivX, XviD)
- Play DVD\Blu-Ray movies - (Yes I know this is not native to XBMC, but it is possible)
- Play 720P movies
- Play 1080P movies
- Stream 1080P Hulu content
- Stream 1080P Netflix movies (Windows only) - Huh (Does this mean It wont work on an OpenELEC platform)
- Bistream HD-Audio
- Play 3D 1080P movies

- Emulators to run games (Nothing fancy, just NES, SNES, MAME etc) ... Huh Will I need a dedicated video card for this
- TV Tuner\Capture Card Huh Do I really need these? Do I have enough room in this case?

This is meant to be a standalone box for my TV. I already have a PC ready to use as a server. Is there anything I missed? Is any of this overkill? Let me know what I could do to make this cheaper, smaller, quieter without losing functionality. Also, If there is a good internal RF receiver I would prefer it over the USB dongle.

Your question about the stream 1080P netflix movies is No I believe. I read somewhere that netflix(or something) requires Silverlight to work. I dont know this and wouldnt be surprised if i were wrong.

Also, on the internal RF receiver, "I" dont know of one, but you could find you an Intel motherboard and use this http://shop.inteset.com/Products/5-ir-re...oards.aspx

I've read that people have used this, I dont know how good it works yet. I have mine ordered. If this works with little or no problems, I will recommend it over anything for my type of build. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/d4T1
