Hello,
WebCam is a cheap interface to PC - infrared WebCam too.
Is it possible to make a Gesture Control Plugin for XMBC (based on OpenCV or similar project) ?

I'll answer your question with a question. How effective is computer vision when a movie is playing and the light on your hand is rapidly fluctuating? Of my 800 movies, how many can I cover-flow through before my arm feels like it's about to fall off? How tolerable is a frustrating false alarm rate when you're on a date and XBMC interprets that hand wandering down a girl's shirt as a sign to cut the movie and leaves you awkwardly staring at an empty screen in utter silence?
