Win Slow Library in later GIT Version
#1
Question
Hello,

i'm currently testing one of the later GIT releases. While testing i noticed that the performance isn't that good like in previous release:

I'm browsing my music library i'm jumping to the last album, jumping into it and the return back to album list.
In my Library (~1000 Albums) the loading now takes several seconds (i can see the loud-speaker icons)

In the previous release (12.0-ALPHA1 Git:20120430-4505d08) there is no delay

Here my system details:

Intel Core i7 2600K, 16 GB RAM, 120 GB SSD, Geforce GTS8800
Win 7 x64
XBMC 12.0-ALPHA4 Git:20120723-9936f91
XBMC with MYSQL database
Thumbnail/fanarts are stored locally

I uploaded some logs and vids of the behaviour

Logfile old version
Video old version
Logfile new version
Video new version

I wanted to aks if someone else has this (slower) behaviour?

Thanks

Hello,

i made a check for the current Nightly Build 12.0-ALPHA4 Git:20120729-1b0360e.

I have the same "issue" with this release. After selecting an album to see the songs and then switch bach to album view it takes about ~ 2 sec until i see the Thumbs at the end of the list. When i do it with the frist items in the list i don't notice a lag. I also checked this with the other other Libararies like Movies. I see the same behaviour on all libraries.

I tried several ways to fill the DB: I exported everthing with my prior version of XBMC and started with empty DB and a clean import/scrape of my paths. I also teried to just update XBMC. With bioth ways i have this issue.

Does really noone else experience this? I can't believe that i'm the only one with a larger library.

Thank you very much

The lag was always there, it's just that before it was on thread (i.e. the initial list took longer to generate) whereas now you only see it if you navigate to the end quickly (as they're set from start to end).

There's not a lot to be done about it to be quite honest without a number of other things being taken care of first, so you'll be stuck with it as-is for the short to medium term.

Cheers,
Jonathan
