That is the only option? If it is, that's kind of a bummer because I didn't really want to drop $30 on something, but oh well.

Yea it seems that way.. Unless you have separate speakers that you can connect to the laptop, then you would only need to do VGA to HDMI, and connect the speakers to the laptop.

But that just sounds silly.

Something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6812186169 (Not recommending this one particularly. It's an example)

Since VGA does not have audio, if you convert VGA to HDMI, you're only getting the video.. and since your tv does not have a separate audio in, that means you have to use that converter

Edit:
But I guess if that Coaxial port is going to be working with one of hdmi port, you can use that I guess.. did not see that coaxial
Okay. So. It looks like you have this tv (or bigger version of it): http://www.tecca.com/product/dynex-and-1...60hz-hdtv/

I looked up the manual here.. which is here: http://www.manualowl.com/m/Dynex/DX32L20...ual/277041

That Coaxial looks like it's only for output to a device based on page 6 and page 15.

So again. nvm. you have to get the converter if you want to do VGA to HDMI.

So, from my understanding, I HAVE to have this (or something like it): http://www.monoprice.com/products/produc...1&format=2

Nice. I knew I would've missed something. Actually page 12. The page number is at the top of the page lol weird manual.

Sorry redsoxboi21. I was totally wrong. I haven't seen any TV's that gets audio from the composite ports like that so I assumed there was no way. Learning something new everyday.

Guess that means, all you need is this http://www.monoprice.com/products/produc...escription

Ok, so will it automatically work if I plug in that ^ for the audio and then a VGA to HDMI cable for the video?
