I just updated xbmc through aptitude last night and deleted my .xbmc directory. After that I've tried the skins Confluence and Metropolis and neither one had the "Add Source" item in the Videos section, so I have not been able to add any of my media back to XBMC. I've tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling a few times now, always removing the .xbmc directory as well, with no success.

I'm on a debian system, 3.2.0-3-686-pae, xbmc package version 3:11.0+git2012

If you select VIDEOS > Files, what do you see?

I see an empty file list. The only entry is ".." for the parent directory and it doesn't go anywhere when I select it

System > Settings > Appearance > File lists > Show "Add source" buttons in file lists

Is this option enabled?

How about:
  1. VIDEOS > Files
  2. Click "c" on keyboard
  3. Select "Add source" from context menu

Try this from the default Confluence skin, just to eliminate any other potential factors.

I've tried that before, and I just tried it again. Hitting 'c' does nothing.

I've been deleting ~/.xbmc/ a lot, so I've just been doing all this with Confluence anyway rather than taking the time to install a skin.

I'm unable to "add source" for video, but music is fine. Related thread: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=143594

Anyone figure this out?
