Hi
I'm sure this has happened before. I had my movies and tvshows in a NAS in my network. Also, the library was in the NAS (mysql). I use 3 clients around my home (windows7, ubuntu and mac) sharing this library. For reasons that don't matter here, I had to change the IP of my NAS. Since then it's been a nightmare. The location of the videos in the mysql have the previous IP. So, updating sources.xml and advancedsettings.xml is not enough. Eventually I just started from scratch and built a new library. Could I have done it better? smarter? maybe..... but that's not the point. The point is I had to hard reset all my computers several times while trying to figure things out. Why can't xbmc terminate graciously when it can't find something that should be somewhere in the network? I have GHz processors, Gbit networks, yet some programs still think that if they can't locate something in the network in one second, maybe they should keep trying for the next half hour......
